Web Proxy, seperti namanya, merupakan web berbasis proxy server yang berfungsi sebagai anonymizer. Maksudnya, Web Proxy bertugas sebagai perantara antara anda (client) dengan web server (web tujuan), dan setiap interaksi akan melalui web proxy. Dalam proses pengiriman data, IP Address anda tidak akan nampak pada web server karena web proxy menyembunyikan IP anda secara anonymous. 1. Anonymizer

2. Bypass Internet Filtering or Unblock Site
Ketika kita mengakses sebuah situs seringkali kita mendapatkan pesan access denied, internet filtering dll yang pada intinya kita tidak diizinkan mengunjungi situs tersebut.
Alasannya karena server atau provider yang kita gunakan memblock situs tersebut. Hal ini sering terjadi ketika kita berada di kampus maupun kantor,

3. Internet Gratis
Banyak para gretongan yang mencari celah trik internet gratis untuk provider tertentu dengan memanfaatkan jasa Web Proxy.
Dan metode yang kebanyakan digunakan dengan menerjemahkan alamat Web Proxy ke dalam IP Address,
kemudian memasukkan proxy tersebut pada pengaturan APN HP maupun pada browser seperti firefox.
